Samsun has quietly revealed its new budget J-Series smartphone, the 2017 edition of Galaxy J2. The all-new Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is now on the company’s India website without a price, indicating it will be made available soon in the country.

The Samsung website has a “Where to buy” option, which is currently disabled. A popular Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom has claimed that the has been launched, and is at Rs. 7,390. Considering the offline retailer usually makes bang-on claims about Samsung’s new handsets, we can expect the Galaxy J2 (2017) pricing to be officially announced soon. We’ve reached out to the company for comment.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is being touted to come with Smart Manager for automatic memory management which will help delete duplicate images on the device automatically, and also delete saved APK files. The smartphone also comes with Ultra Data Saving mode that the company claims can help users save up to 50 percent data.

The Android-based Galaxy J2 (2017) features a 4.7-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The handset comes with 8GB inbuilt storage out of which only 4.3GB is user accessible. It supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). The Galaxy J2 (2017) sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash, and a 2-megapixel front camera. The dual-SIM handset supports USB on-the-go (USB OTG). On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and 3.5mm audio jack. It will be available in Metallic Gold and Absolute Black colours. It measures 136.5x69x8.4mm and weighs 130 grams. The handset is backed by a 2000mAh removable battery.
